7 Month Baby Milestones – What we’ve been upto

by thenibecamemum

Boom! Just like that, we’re 7 months old and writing our 7 month baby milestones! If you haven’t read our previous baby milestones then you can find Month 5 and Month 6 here (we weren’t blogging previous to this!).

Being first time parents, we rely a lot on other people’s experiences either through people we know or online. I had not realised that he would make such progress so quickly! Yet, Little One has surpassed all our expectations and achieved so much (in our biased eyes, of course!).

So what are our 7 month baby milestones?
  • Sitting up is a breeze. Who needs Mum’s help?! We’re also beginning to move from sitting to crawling position, although that pesky little leg keeps getting in the way.
  • Now we can wriggle backwards at speed and we love nothing more than reversing into furniture.
  • Forwards is a tad trickier and though we’re starting to get the hang of it, we do prefer to drag ourselves along to save time!

If all else fails, just drag yourself along! Little One is being extremely mischievous today. Oh how easy it was when he was immobile!

  • We are loving weaning and enjoying a variety of different foods. However, lumpy food is a bit of an issue for us and seems to make us throw up! Apart from banana, we’re happy to swallow that whole!
  • Our sounds are coming along and we’ve mastered f, m, p, b and most recently, a c. We are also partial to a bit of ‘eeeee’ and ‘aaaaa’ shouting at the top of our voice.
  • This Month also saw us celebrate our first Christmas together. Santa was extremely kind and now the house is chockablock with toys! Remember that we were scared of almost everything? Well, now you can add wrapping paper to the list!
And there we go, another milestone post completed!
What were your baby’s milestones at 7 months? Did you or your children achieve any milestones this month? Share them below!

Aww, bless <3 My baby is only 5 months but she absolutely loves screaming aaaaaaa at the top of her lungs. Moving is no where near happening, she even refuses to roll over but she is happy to make all sorts of noises and has just learnt to blow raspberries 🙂
Still gigging over fear of wrapping paper 😀 #blogstravaganza

Aww how cute! My little one likes to blow raspberries too. You’ll be surprised how quickly they catch on and start moving about. Since writing this post, he can now fully crawl which I would not have thought would happen so quickly!

This is lovely – I really wish I’d thought to keep a monthly log of everything when Lily was tiny – this will be lovely for you to look back on one day 🙂

Unfortunately, I only have the last 3 months as I only started my blog at the end of October. I do wish I’d managed to record them all though as like you say, it’s nice to look back on.

My little boy just turned seven months! He’s got that army crawl down and spends half his life getting trapped in corners as he hasn’t learnt how to reverse yet!!

Ohh bless him, haha! My little one used to reverse into the smallest spaces. If there was a gap, he was in it!

Ah wow, look at him go! I’m looking forward to when Benjamin starts moving around more although it’s nice he stays in one place at the moment! x

Definitely easier when they stay still. But on the flip side, once they’re moving I find that it’s easier for them to play and often you’re not needed/wanted anymore!

Aw your little one is so cute! I love it when they start to get a bit more mobile, their characters really begin to shine through! Weaning is great fun isn’t it?! I love it when they try out new foods! Thanks so much for linking another great post too #Blogstravaganza, hope to see you again next week xx

I’m currently finding weaning quite tough. I think I got a tad carried away with myself as he was eating baby rice from around 4-5 months old without any problems. Now that we’re getting to the more textured things, he’s so much more difficult. I’m sure we’ll get there though.

This is adorable – so looking forward to these moments. That weaning picture tells a thousand stories alone…

I love doing monthly updates for my two (I’ll be doing my youngest’s 18 month update soon.. sob!). It sounds like he’s doing really well. Backwards crawling is funny isn’t it – I’m always impressed how far they can get doing it! xx

Oh I bet that has flew over too! I can hardly believe my little one is 7 months old. It is quite impressive the speed they get to, blink and they’re off!

Definitely! Although everybody says you’ll have your work cut out and secretly, I quite enjoy chasing him about.

Eeek this made me smile, P is this age now and he’s doing all of the same things. Though I’m certain he’s said Dada (not consciously of course) and that is something I shall not be willing along, Mama first please son!!

Haha! It’s the opposite with my little one. He can say some sort of ‘mom’ so I’ve convinced myself that he’s saying ‘Mam’ (as I’m known in my neck of the woods). I’ve not heard him say a ‘d’ yet though so it looks like I’m winning in the first word stakes!

Ah they grow up so quickly, he’ll be mastering that lumpy food and walking before you know it! Love the reverse crawling under the furniture, so funny!

Aw this is so lovely, the tigger suit is particularly cute. I always laughed when little one reversesd under furniture. He’ll soon pick it up and then he’ll be off!

Within a matter of days he’d figured it out. Great that he’s learnt a new skill, bad that he can now take off at twice the speed!
