Being the mother of a baby with sensitive skin means that I am particular about the baby skincare that I use. Choosing something that doesn’t agree with Little T can cause angry red rashes to appear which leaves him uncomfortable and itchy. However, there are some products that Little T reacts well with and these are my ‘can’t live without’ products!
Below are some of our favourite baby skincare products:
Aveeno Baby Daily Care Lotion
Made with natural oatmeal, Aveeno Baby Daily Care Lotion is kind on Little T’s skin. It is easy to apply and absorbs into the skin quickly with a non-greasy application. This is especially useful as Little T is a wriggler so anything that absorbs quickly is a huge plus!
I use the moisturiser on a daily basis, applying it in the morning on Little T’s whole body including his face. I have found that the lotion is long-lasting and stays moisturised all day. Unlike the normal Aveeno lotion, the baby skincare lotion has a pleasant smell despite being fragrance-free.
Finally, Aveeno Baby Daily Care Lotion has no drying alcohol and is hypoallergenic.

Sudocrem Care & Protect
Having grown up with Sudocrem, this was always going to be my first choice for nappy rash cream. I used Sudocrem Healing Cream from the moment Little T was born and it never let me down. Then I discovered Sudocrem Care & Protect and decided to give this a try too. It is an amazing baby skincare product!
Sudocrem Care & Protect has a different consistency and does not leave the white residue that Sudocrem Healing Cream leaves behind. I found it to be a gentle but highly effective nappy rash ointment, which has been designed specifically for babies.
When using Sudocrem Care & Protect, I only need to apply a small amount since this goes a long way. After just a handful of applications there is a noticeable improvement. If I use the lotion after every nappy change then I very rarely see any nappy rash at all. The reason for this is the protective barrier that is created which seals the skin from irritants and guards against infection.
As well as helping to clear up nappy rash, the Vitamin E and Pro Vitamin B5 in the ointment helps to keep my baby’s bottom soft and moisturised. I also find that when applied to the skin, it absorbs quickly. It is also hypoallergenic and free from artificial colours and preservatives which is perfect for my baby’s sensitive skin.
Another huge plus about Sudocrem Care & Protect is that it comes in a handy tube which has a flip up lid. This allows me to apply the Cream with one hand, making application so simple!

Kokoso Baby Coconut Oil
As with Aveeno, Kokoso Baby Coconut Oil is also a fantastic baby skincare product for the body and face. Having first seen it on Dragon’s Den, I decided to give it a go.
Kokoso Baby Coconut Oil is 100% natural and made from high quality raw virgin organic oil. That’s it, just coconut oil.
We use Kokoso Baby Coconut Oil on an evening after a bath as it is perfect for baby massage. It melts from the heat of your hand (yet resets once it resumes room temperature) and glides on well.
One downside to Kokoso is that it doesn’t absorb as quick as the other products but as I dress Little T in his pyjamas straight afterwards, this doesn’t make a difference to us. The benefits of the coconut oil are worth it. As an example of how well it works, T developed extremely dry and rough skin on his limbs and face. After one application, it felt considerably smoother. After a week, the dry patches had gone altogether.
You can purchase Kokoso Baby Coconut Oil at most Boots stores.
Johnson’s Bedtime Bath
Johnson’s Bedtime Bath is a baby skincare product that can be added to your baby’s bath, helping them to sleep at night. The bath product is said to release natural essences which soothe and calm. Now I don’t know what it is but this definitely works for Little T! Combined with the coconut oil, this is the perfect night time routine to get him off to sleep.
You only need to apply a small amount to the bath otherwise you end up with bubbles galore and that is not the recipe for a calm baby!
As well as soothing Little T, Johnson’s Bedtime Bath does not dry out his skin and does not cause his sensitive skin to flare. Super! It also has the No Tears formula so it will not irritate his eyes.
You can purchase Johnson’s Bedtime Bath here.
And there we have it, some of the products that we love that are kind on Little T’s sensitive skin.
