My Christmas celebrations post is a tad belated as I decided to take time away from the blog to enjoy Little One’s first Christmas. As hubby worked a night shift on Christmas Eve (meaning we spent most of Christmas Day apart), we took advantage of the days following.
It has been such a lovely week. Here’s a summary of our Christmas celebrations:
Christmas Eve Eve
During the day, Little One’s Auntie, Uncle and Cousins came to give him his gifts. His talented auntie had made him a Christmas Snowman bear so we spent the evening playing with this along with all of his other teddies.
We also spent some time finishing off our Christmas cards and decorating the inside of Dad’s card (yup, we were very last minute!).
My immediate family came to keep us company whilst hubby was at work. We enjoyed nibbles and drinks whilst playing Disney Trivia Pursuit! (I forgot to take photos of the cooked products so enjoy looking at boxes!)
My sister thought it would be a great idea to buy everybody matching pyjamas. They were so comfy!
Before bed, we left Santa and his reindeers a bite to eat on our plate we made at our latest pottery adventure.
As Hubby was just getting off night shift, we woke up super early to open gifts. I have mentioned before how Little One is scared of ALOT. Well, now we can add wrapping paper to that list as he really didn’t like the sound to begin with.
Although we didn’t share it as a threesome, we still had a great day. First, we went to my grandparent’s where all of my extended family meet to swap gifts. Then we went to Hubby’s parent’s house to see his side of the family.
After that, we went to have Christmas lunch at my parent’s house and again, swap gifts. Unfortunately, Little One wasn’t keen on Christmas dinner! My dad also managed to some how burn the sprouts (yes, I said burn the sprouts).
Finally, we made a quick trip to my uncle’s with the Hubby to see my other Grandparents and then it was back home to enjoy the rest of Christmas night.
Our Boxing Day is the same every year. It’s my sisters birthday so my parent’s always organise a buffet and family come round to visit. Afterwards, we go up to my auntie’s for a house party. This year was no different. Little One refused to sleep with so much going on and became a bit grumpy so I left at 8pm to get him to bed earlier.
I wasn’t the best at taking photos for this day so here’s one of Rice Krispie Christmas trees my dad made, which were delicious, and grumpy Little One refusing sleep.
Days that Followed
The days that followed Boxing Day have been spent finding homes for the many toys and testing them out. I’m not sure who had more fun us or Little One?!
So there you have it, our Christmas celebrations summed up. Of course, I could have went into great detail but we would have been up all night.
What did you do for Christmas? Share it the comments below!
That sounds similar to what our Christmas’ used to be like – it’s so much easier now there’s just the two of us!
It was definitely easier for us last year with just the two of us! Thank you for reading ????
Very similar, to be honest, finished off wrapping up the presents on Christmas Eve, visited family on Christmas day, then went to Butlins, in Minehead for 3 days in between Christmas and New Year. 🙂
Sounds like a busy Christmas!
Sounds like you had a wonderful Xmas with lots of family to share it with. Love the matching jim jams! Our oven stopped working Xmas day, the turkey had been in for an hour before we even noticed!
Aww no! Sounds like something my family would do. They’re always forgetting something or burning something ????
