I should probably have written the January round-up post in January. But I didn’t manage to get it done in time. Oops.
As you may (or may not) have noticed I’ve decided to completely revamp how I post my round-up posts. You’ll realise, if you have read my other round-up posts (such as here and here), that it’s no longer a weekly thing. I think it’s much easier going forward, especially with my return to work next month. Boo!
As well as amalgamating everything into one monthly post, I have also decided to change the content that I include.
Our January Round-Up
This month has been rather a quiet one with the come down from a Christmas.
We’ve signed up to a new class, Artventurers, which is a messy play style class. So far, Little T is loving it and loves to get stuck right in!
This month we also took Little T to the park for the first time to play on the swings. Somebody was a tad brave and refused to hold on!
Whilst there, we had a wander along to the duck pond. Unfortunately, this wasn’t our most favourite encounter and we were a little suspicious of their intentions!
Knowing that Little T is a huge fan of fish, we also took him to Blue Reef Aquarium.
He was very nonchalant about this scary guy!
The aquarium even had monkeys, which Little T showed no interest in – much to my disappointment.
Blog Round-Up
Incase you missed them, here is a round-up of some of January’s top posts:
Baby Wings Pacifier Clip – The first brand collaboration of the year. We loved these clips for preventing dummies going walk abouts.
Dear Other Mum…What I Wish I’d Said – By far the most popular post on the blog for January. An honest account of how I felt after watching another Mum struggle with her child.
Zippy Bandana Bibs – Why we loved them! – Having already been a Zippy bib convert, I was super excited to be asked to review their product. Read why I love these super absorbent and stylish bibs.
Night Terrors in Adults – The Unfunny Truth – Busting misconceptions about night terrors and sharing my tips on how I deal with mine.
Posts I’ve enjoyed this month
I have read so many great posts this month but the three below have stuck in my mind:
When did social media stop being ‘social’? – A great read from Tim at Slouching Towards Thatcham about how social media can be somewhat ‘antisocial’ these days – especially when it’s full of advertisements, trolls and self-promotion (I’m definitely guilty of that at times!)
Give Me Space Campaign – Mrs H at Happy Mummy has written about something that really winds me up – a lack of child spaces. Sometimes this is due to lazy drivers who don’t have children, but often this is to do with the general amount available. This campaign calls for more spaces.
Could you feed your family on £2? – This one really hit home for me and made me quite ashamed at our food wastage! Laura at Five Little Doves raises awareness of just how much some people have to live on. She took the challenge of whether her family could live on £2 (per head).
Yearly Goals Update
If you read our post on 2017 goals then you will know that I intend to keep track of where I’m at with my goals in each round-up. So here we go…
Blog goals
- Commit to posting 3 posts per week (Averaging 2-a week at the moment)
- Work with 3 brands we love (Baby Wings, Zippy Bibs, and a few more to publish)
- Reach 2k followers on Instagram (currently 1k+)
- Reach 3k followers on Twitter (currently 1.5k+)
- Gain 500 blog subscribers (currently 250+. Don’t forget to subscribe in the sidebar)
- Establish a Facebook page for the blog (I did it! Find it here)
- Feature a guest post on the blog (Not yet but I have guest posts pending for other blogs)
I am so happy with how January has gone. I have managed to hit the half way mark on most of my goals in just one month! For next month, I need to focus on getting some guest posts on my blog and trying to up my posts to 3 per week.

Love the photos of Little T in the park. So cute.
My January has mostly been about getting through the month in one piece and getting a bit of a shock when I realised February has arrived without any warning.
Yes, February seemed to sneak up!
Looks like you had a really nice month:) It’s a great idea to have yearly goals- it’s very motivating. I love your little one’s cute hat:)
It’s our (my) favourite hat. I’m surprised it’s not threadbare the amount of times I put it on him! You wouldn’t think he owned others.
Love the photos of little T Looks like u had a fab month. We did thev £2 challenge too and it really makes u think about what u are spending on eating each day.
Lovely pictures; those are some great adventures for Little T!
Hmm…I spent less than I was expecting to in January, so I’m pleased with that :D.

Interesting post. Sounds like January was a busy month for you.
Great goals for the year. I will head over and give your new fb page a like!
Thank you! ????
Oh what a lovely round-up! Makes me think I should be doing something like this – what a lovely way to look back on what you’ve done and achieved. First swing experience sounds fun (although I think I’d have been having kittens at him not holding on!). Well done on all your blog achievements too. Here’s to a successful February too!
Thank you ! Yes, it did scare me a little so I didn’t leave go of him ????
