Don’t get me wrong, I love a chocolate advent calendar as much as the next person. Even at the age of 30, I still receive one every year. However, my only bugbear with chocolate calendars is the experience is short lived. I find myself eating a few days at once to get my fix (open it from the top, then it doesn’t count as opening it early!). That’s why I love non-chocolate advent calendars. Not only does the experience last longer but there’s more excitement trying to guess what might be behind the next door. And then there’s the fact that you have 24 products to use well after the Christmas period.

This year, there seems to be an influx of non-chocolate advent calendars which makes choosing the right one a hard task. So I’ve saved you the trouble and I have rounded up the best non-chocolate advent calendars for 2017.

In our house we have a Happyland one for little sister, a Disney animators studio one for Big sister and a marshmallow one for my partner. I think mine will be sweets too.

The marshmallow one sounds interesting! I’ve seen some gourmet marshmallow ones around which looked tempting.

Some lovely choices in here. I hadn’t even thought of getting one for the dog! We’re doing a DIY advent calendar this year. R’s first Christmas she got so many beautiful Christmas bits and bobs but was too young to appreciate them so we’re wrapping them back up for one a day this year! #blogstravaganza

I I had a Yankee advent calander a few years back and I was was on the fence over whether I liked it but I have seen this years and I am really tempted as it looks good. My daughter has a lego friends calender for this year and she is really excited to get it open #blogstravaganza

I really like the Yankee ones. My only bugbear was that there are only 7 scents in the Wreath one so it’s a bit repetitive but the 3D one has lots of different scents which I like. Aww I wish my little one was old enough to get excited. I’m more excited for him!

They do! There was so much more choice than last year. I dread to think how hard it’ll be to choose next year if it continues to increase!

We love non-chocolate advent calendars for our boys, Lego and Playmobil ones. But my eldest is 15 now and I think he’s had all the Lego ones. I can’t find a decent alternative – that Tinc one looks like it could be good, but I think it might be more geared towards girls.

I would definitely say the Tinc one is unisex. The stationary in the calendar is Tinc branded or Christmas themed so would be suitable for girls and boys 🙂
