Sensse Hot and Cold Ultrasonic Facial Bar Review

by thenibecamemum

After returning to work from maternity leave, the long hours and lack of sleep took a tole on my skin. No longer was it bright and awake; it looked tired, dull and in desperate need of TLC! Over the months, I worked my way through different creams, scrubs and masks to bring back my glow but I was yet to discover “the one”. So when I was offered the chance to try out the Sensse Hot and Cold Ultrasonic Facial Bar, I jumped at the chance to try something a little different.

The Sensse Hot and Cold Ultrasonic Facial Bar is a device which claims to use temperature and vibration to:-

  • Energise and brighten your skin – Hot and cool face massager relieves skin fatigue and energises facial muscles for a radiant glow.
  • Soften and relax facial muscles – The 42°C temperature when put into hot mode should increase blood circulation, relax facial muscles which should smooth wrinkles and activate cell regrowth.
  • Reduce redness and swelling – The 6°C temperature of cool mode should soothe sore facial muscles and help skin fatigue; It also reduces redness and puffiness.
  • Increase moisturiser absorption – Using ultrasonic vibrations, it should increase absorption of your moisturiser while cool mode closes pores to prevent dirt and grime buildup.
What you get

If nothing else, the Sensse Hot and Cold Ultrasonic Facial Bar is very pretty to look at with its sleek, pearl and rose gold design. The facial bar is lightweight and has a curved body making it easy to hold. Inside the box, you get the facial bar, instructions and a USB cable for charging unit.

Using the Sensse Hot and Cold Ultrasonic Facial Bar

Using the facial bar was really straight forward. The bar needs to be charged up for a minimum of 6 hours by placing it on the charging unit.

I found that it heated up and cooled down really quickly so there was no waiting about.

How I got on

Firstly, I have a confession. I spent the first few days using the facial bar with the protective cover still on the metal pad. As somebody who follows the instructions step by step, it had not told me to remove the cover and therefore I didn’t. Oops!

Once I started using it correctly, it was so simple to use. After removing your make-up, apply a little bit of moisturiser to the facial bar pad and massage it in. It is recommended that you use it no longer than two minutes, 3-5 times a week. This means you’re not adding unnecessary time to your facial routine which was perfect for me.

I’d like to say that I found “the one”, my miracle cure, but as I’ve only been using it just over a week, there’s no dramatic changes yet. I’m yet to see my skin firming and feel that the vibration settings didn’t really have any effect at all. I have, however, noticed that my skin is looking a lot brighter and my pores look smaller. As well as this, the dark circles under my eyes are less pronounced (but I guess that’s the same effect I would get when applying a cold compress).

The Verdict

Personally, it is worthwhile for me to continue to use the Sensse Hot and Cold Ultrasonic Facial Bar as I definitely did see a difference to the overall appearance of my skin. Sadly though, it isn’t a miracle product which is going to firm my skin and get rid of my crows feet immediately. But, I’m hoping it will in the long term. Fingers crossed!
